In our daily lives, we encounter numerous examples of energy conservation and transformations. Let's take a look at some common scenarios to understand these concepts.

1. Energy Transfers in a Pendulum: Consider a simple pendulum swinging back and forth. At the highest point in its swing (when it is stationary), the pendulum has maximum potential energy. As it swings down to the lowest point, the potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. At the lowest point, the pendulum has maximum kinetic energy. The energy transforms back and forth between potential and kinetic but remains constant over time.

2. Conversion of Electrical Energy: When we turn on a light bulb, electrical energy from the power source is transformed into light and heat energy. The electrical energy is converted to light energy that illuminates the room, and some of it is transformed into heat energy, which you can feel from the warmth of the bulb.

3. Energy Conservation in a Roller Coaster: Roller coasters exemplify energy conservation and transformations. As the roller coaster ascends a hill, potential energy increases; then, as it descends, potential energy is converted into kinetic energy. The total mechanical energy (potential energy + kinetic energy) remains constant as long as there is no external energy input or frictional forces.
