By applying Newton's third law of motion, the change in momentum of the propelled gas results in an equal and opposite change in momentum of the rocket.

Car Crashes: In the case of car crashes, conservation of momentum plays a critical role in understanding the forces involved. When two vehicles collide, the total momentum before the impact is equal to the total momentum after the impact, assuming no external forces are acting. This principle helps investigators analyze the velocities and directions of the vehicles involved to determine the cause and severity of the accident.

Sports: Momentum conservation is also evident in various sports, particularly in games involving collisions and projectiles. Consider a game of billiards, where one ball collides with another. The total momentum before the collision is equal to the total momentum after the collision, helping players anticipate the movement of balls and plan their shots.
