Continuity is a fundamental concept in calculus that determines the smoothness and connectedness of a function. A function is said to be continuous if there are no sudden jumps, breaks, or holes in its graph. Intuitively, you can imagine drawing the graph of a continuous function without lifting your pen from the paper. On the other hand, a function is discontinuous if there are abrupt changes or gaps in its graph.
