Let's continue with our previous example of testing a new teaching method. To make the hypotheses more specific, we could state the null hypothesis as 'The average test scores of students using the new teaching method are not significantly different from the average test scores of students using the traditional method.'

The alternative hypothesis, in this case, could be 'The average test scores of students using the new teaching method are significantly higher than the average test scores of students using the traditional method.'

Once we have correctly formulated the null and alternative hypotheses based on our research question, we can proceed with conducting the hypothesis test to gather evidence and make an informed decision.
